Shimmering Pond Farm - 2103 Stagecoach Rd. -  Morristown, Vermont 05661 - (802) 888-0020

Our  Products:

Our alpacas are shorn once a year in the spring. The alpacas are not harmed by this process and require it to avoid heat stress during the warm summer months.  We then  hand process the fiber right here at Shimmering Pond Farm in Vermont or have it it made into roving by a local Vermont mill. Special attention to each fleece insures a superior finished product that is ready for you to spin into yarn, felt or weave. Alpaca fiber is incredibly soft on the skin and to the touch. The fiber is extremely strong, yet lightweight & very warm. It contains no lanolin and is considered hypoallergenic. Alpaca fiber comes in a wide range of natural colors & blends well with other fibers. It also dyes well. Alpaca fiber is used to make next to the skin garments as well as outerwear. The shorter coarser fibers can be used to make rugs, felted products, batting for quilts, stuffing for pet beds, craft projects & an array of other products. Along with our farm products we also offer other handcrafted items from a variety of  fibers. Check back often, as we try to  add new items to offer
We only ship within the USA.

Made from 100% alpaca fiber in natural colors from our very own alpacas.
The alpaca fiber is spun around a cotton core.  Handwoven on a loom right here on the farm by our own shepherdess. These rugs are beautiful, soft on the feet, reversible and very durable.  Each rug is uniquely handcrafted & beautifully woven. May be used in any room in your home including the Bathroom.

Care: Vacuum rug with a smooth tool or shake out. Spot clean as needed with warm water and mild soap or you may clean the entire surface with a mild wool cleaner such as Woolite.  I prefer to hand wash in the sink or bathtub, roll up in towel to squeeze out excess water and lye flat to dry.

Stop purchasing dryer sheets and go green with all natural alpaca dryer balls. Help protect the environment. Dryer Balls are an Eco-friendly alternative to conventional dryer sheets or liquid fabric softener. Our dryer balls are handmade here on our farm from 100% alpaca fiber. They can be used over and over. Every now and again, I throw mine through the wash cycle with a load of clothes and then into the dryer. This freshens them up.

  • Dryer balls help hot air circulate throughout the dryer, gently separating and fluffing your clothes as they tumble around in your dryer. This can help to soften & reduce wrinkles.

  • Dryer balls help reduce static. I like to dampen the balls prior to tossing them in the dryer.

  •  If you want some fragrance, you can add a few drops of your favorite essential oil to the balls.  Sold in sets of 4
